So, goddamnit! Damn it all to hell. We were outside today with the dogs. For some reason Kadee's dog Peanut went down the road (unknown to us). I found him a few minutes later. I don't know what happened, but he is gone. I don't know if a moose got him or a car. In 3 years that is 3 dogs. Gromit was killed by a moose. Zari got in a porcupine so badly she couldn't be saved. And now this. Kadee is distraught. Damnit all to hell.

I'm sorry, buddy. But it was Peanut. It had issues.

Feel blessed Ive lost 4 dogs in 4 weeks But our situations are a little different...

A word of advise...you really shouldnt own dogs that are smaller then the State Bird I would of named P-nut EagleBait or Munchie But thats just me I want a dog that weighs too much for an Eagle to lift

Although it seems to be common practice around here, letting your pets roam free is irresponsible. If you can't take proper care of a pet... The small dogs can get scooped up by eagles, and the larger ones often end up with infected GSW (if the shooters aren't humane or are a poor shot).
He wasn't roaming free asshole. We were outside with him. So your position is that a dog should never go out? He weighed 2 pounds...he went out with us....it was an accident.

My dogs are NEVER loose except when my stalker unchains them A 2lb dog should at least be attached to a shoelace-if the people it belongs to care at all But then theres so many dogowners that shouldnt even own one
wildnorganic: enough. I'm sorry about your problems but talk to me about them in private.

I own 2 chihuahuas, but would not have that breed in Alaska. Nor would I have a husky in Mexico. Can you cool it with taking the Lord's name in vain?
Saylor: actually Peanut did quite well. My dog Becky, who is 1/2 chihuahua has lived here over 3 years (this is her 4th winter) without problems. So your concern is unfounded. Nor do I see the connection between him being a chihuahua and getting hit by a car or a moose or whatever it was. As for the Lord's name, if you don't like it, go away. How about this: godammit it all to hell. Goddamn all the meddling anonymous commenters. Jesus Christ you people suck. How about that? Asshole.
New rule: if you don't have something positive to say, you can fuck off. I like to document my life but I truly, absolutely don't give a flying fuck what most of you think. If you don't like what I have to say, then go somewhere else. P.S. Goddamnit. I honestly think 1/2 the people who read this people are total douche bags. And that does not speak well.

boy some people just dont get it. while i own two eagle baters, one is allowed off lease and the other isn't. I understand the frustration of losing an animal and then trying to explain to a child. btw i would have used more cuss words then that. cynthia
Well thanks. But why is everyone so concerned about eagles. I know it CAN happen. But it didn't. It's like saying to someone who got hit by a truck ,well you shouldn't have smoked. And by the way, bald eagles are mostly marine. This time of year they all seem to be at the dump. I was almost more concerned by the owls.

Post your life online and you may get some opinions you don't agree with...
My dogs go outside anytime they want, within a fenced-in area. Otherwise they stay on lead or inside. I enjoy reading your goddamn blog.

maybe the eagles don't like your dogs. one time i watched an eagle cirle and slowly come down from high up and when i brought the dog in he reversed direction. have only seen an owl once but have heard them a time or two but hten again i live in southeast

I'm so sorry for your loss, and sorry that your daughter must go through such a thing at such an age.
I have NO doubt that eagles would get a dog that size. That is why we were always outside with him. It was just so strange. We were playing in the yard with him and then he was just gone. Ouch....I think though that BALD eagles are primarily interested in fish. And garbage it seems. When I see them, they just keep going. But there is no stopping accidents. Gromit was a big dog. Moose killed him. Zari was a big dog and the porcupine hurt her BAD. yet Becky (my little dog) is going strong. Oh well....
Hey!
I'm no douchebag.
Sorry about the dog. I hope it returns
Would you write to me. I'm researching some stuff for work about ignition interlock sentencing rules in Alaska.
It'll be fun.

later,

sc
Sure...but where do I write to. Dog aint coming back. He is dead.

So sorry for your and Kadee's loss. I also feel for all the displaced and lost dogs in Haiti. Here is an approved charity for animal relief in Haiti,

Ben, I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of Peanut. Things like that happen in the blink of an eye. I hope Kadee is doing better. I hope all of you are as well. Losing my last dog was absolutely devastating. I'm not looking forward to the day when I'll inevitably lose my current dog.
Again, I hate to be that guy, but Ben, that dog had some serious issues and was, for the most part, unpleasant to be around. As Bill for god's sake.
But Kadee loved him. And that is all that matters. When you are a dad, there is nothing that hurts more than the tears of a 3 year old. I would rather have someone squeeze my balls in a vice than see her in despair. That is all that matters. You will see one day my friend....you will see.
Oops

NPD, Were you telling Ben to ask me, or that Peanut had as many issues as me? It is true Peanut had a lot of issues , but whether he had more or less than me is another question entirely. And Ben, I do feel bad for Kadee, even though that damn dog never liked me. Finally, in support of Ben, I had a Chihuahua in AK, and it did fine.
